The Chateau Girardeau Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1984, five years after the founding of Chateau Girardeau, with the following purpose and mission:

The Chateau Girardeau Foundation’s primary purpose and function is to solicit, receive and manage gifts and requests, to fund projects that would enhance the enjoyment and well-being of The Chateau Residents.

Since the Foundation is a charitable organization with a tax-exempt status, gifts and bequests to the Foundation are income tax deductible by the donor. The Foundation Board of Directors is responsible for the investment of all funds and approves disbursements that have been recommended by the Foundation’s Associate Board.

  • Friend-Raising Events
  • Furniture and Equipment for different areas on Campus


Opportunities for Giving

Friends of The Chateau can make a variety of gifts to The Chateau Foundation. The method selected by each donor depends upon his or her own motivation, financial circumstances and tax position.

A gift may be offered in memory of or in tribute to a loved one or a friend, in celebration of a special occasion, or as an expression of appreciation. A gift in any amount is greatly appreciated and has a tremendous impact on the Foundation programs. All contributions made through the Foundation are tax deductible.
